The Shire. Will you be watching?
As the ‘Jersey Shore’ housemates ditch their drunk and disorderly ways to settle down and have babies – there’s a new crew ready and willing to step into the party shoes of Snooki and co!
Promising “real people and real drama” - Australia’s hotly anticipated“dramality” series ‘The Shire’ is now just FOUR days away!
“We’re gonna bare all,”say the cast in the show’s full length teaser promo released today.
“No actors, no scripts, just the drama of our lives.”
But, can the gang of “hot surfers, vivacious models, girls next door, on-and-off couples, loveable rogues and entrepreneurs"from Sydney’s Sutherland Shire really live up to their fist-pumping predecessors?
“There will be peoplewho will loveit and peoplewho will hate it,''Shrine’s Matt Campbell, the man behind the production of the series, told the Sydney Morning Herald.
And while the love may take a while to come, there’s no denying the show’s already had it’s fair share of hate –even before it’s premiered!
As well as facing opposition from Sutherland’s mayor Carol Provan and riled up local residents, viewers have been far from shy-ire in voicing their opinions.
After promo trailers were released this week, the show received quite the hammering on Twitter…
Really Australia? The Shire? This is enough to make me move countries. Your land is not abound in nature's gifts.

Oh dear god - the promo for The Shire. Where do they find these people? So dumb it's a wonder they manage to breathe unassisted
Wow!! Reality tv at its worst! Definitely vomit a little watching the preview advert!!!
But despite the backlash, TV bosses are confident ‘The Shire’ will be a success.
“The genre has been a hit in the US (Jersey Shore) and the UK (The Only Way is Essex), changing the way people view television, and we intend to do the same,"said David Mott, Network Ten’s chief programming officer in a statement.
And after all, their aim to make the cast the “most talked-about people in Australia” has already become a reality!
