• Germany's Kristina Vogel adds a bit of bling to the German flag at a track cycling training session at the Velodrome.

• US tennis player Venus Williams displays a desconstructed Stars and Stripes on her digits at a press conference just ahead of the Games.

  Venus Williams is USA all the way with shiny red nails and sparkling embellishments. The stand out? A red, white, blue and gold accent nail broadcasting her goal of winning Olympic gold.
