What is the most embarrassing thing that your children have said?

What is the most embarrassing thing that your children have said?

It was early on in my relationship with my husband Michael that I first heard the now infamous f**cken lady story.

Michael’s aunt had no children of her own and doted on my husband when he was a baby.  She thought he was the most adorable being (as most aunts are want to think about the nephews with whom they don’t have to live). So, when she was invited to a fancy lunch at the house of a visiting diplomat (who just happened to have a 3 year old daughter) she could not get Michael there fast enough. She bought him a special outfit – a sailor suit  in fact, stay with me this was the early 1970’s , she polished his little matching shoes, brushed his hair into a terribly 1970’s hairstyle and carted him off to the home of some South African dignatory.

They got to the door and Michael (who was apparently a gorgeous and well behaved child) looked at he host and pronounced on the top of his lungs “You're a F**cking Lady”. Just like that, No rhyme, no reason just his first ever swear word.

Nice one Mike.

I thought of this story again when I saw this clip of Pippa Middleton promoting her party planning book in London recently.

A little girl at the table, who clearly took a lesson in appropriate timing from my husband, sat at the table and calmly informed The Duchess of Cambridge's sister  “I hate princesses”

Awkward.
