Lindsay Lohan in trouble. AGAIN
Lindsay Lohan was arrested in New York City this morning for leaving the scene of an accident. There reportedly was no alcohol involved, so we wonder who possibly taught her that walking away after hitting a human being is proper driving etiquette.
However, Lohan is alleging that something "really fishy" is going on in this case, as initial recounts of the accident don't seem to line up with the story Lohan is telling her friends. TMZ and People are reporting that the 26-year-old was parking her Porsche Cayenne in an alleyway near the Dream Hotel downtown around midnight when she allegedly clipped the knee of a 34-year-old Hispanic man. Her occupant is said to have checked their car for damages, but Lohan walked into the Dream without checking in with the man.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a knee injury, though there's been no word of how severe it is. Someone called the police while Lohan was in the club and they were waiting for her outside at around 2:30 a.m. Lohan was taken into custody and booked with a misdemeanor, then released with a desk appearance ticket (meaning she didn't have to pay bail).
However, an update on TMZ says that this might not be the whole story. "Lindsay is telling friends she had no idea she hit anybody and it wasn't until she came out and got arrested that she knew anything was going on," the site reports, adding that no one apparently got out of the car to check for damages. "Lohan is calling the incident 'really fishy' because the man didn't appear to have any visible injuries and feels she's the victim of a set up. She's not going to let the incident go and is planning on fighting it to the end."
It will be interesting to see how this one plays out, but it sounds markedly similar to the situation Amanda Bynes found herself in recently. Lohan recently compared herself to the former Nickelodeon star on Twitter, complaining that Bynes has seen no major repercussions for her reckless driving thus far.
The big difference is that Lohan's incidents have been far more severe than Bynes' recent antics. From her jewelry theft case to constantly violating her parole to trying to flee the scene in other car accidents to not paying her $46,000 bill at Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont, Lohan has gotten herself in a lot of trouble recently. If she is deemed guilty in this case, this incident could be considered another probation violation and Lohan could find herself in court yet again.
