Heidi Klum learns from Kate Middleton
Heidi Klum has never been shy about her body, but even lingerie models are entitled to some privacy. The Project Runway host is reportedly threatening to sue a French magazine that published topless photos of Klum on holiday with her new boyfriend, bodyguard Martin Kristen.
In the pictures, which have been making the rounds on the internet, Klum and Kristen are standing on a beach and applying sunscreen to one another. Much like Kate Middleton in those controversial sunbathing photos, Klum is wearing nothing but a bikini bottom.
In fact, it may be the Duchess of Cambridge who has inspired Klum to take legal action. Much like Middleton, the supermodel was photographed without her knowledge while vacationing in a private spot. Both sets of photographs were taken in France, where the British royal family is now pursuing a criminal complaint for violation of privacy. If Middleton's lawsuit is successful, TMZ reports, Klum may follow suit and sue those responsible.
This is not the first time that Klum, 39, has been photographed topless by paparazzi while on vacation. (And of course, she has frequently posed nude for photographers -- but that's a totally different thing.) Why has she waited until now to fight back? Maybe now that she's a single mom -- her divorce from Seal is still being settled -- she's feeling extra-vigilant about protecting her privacy. Maybe turning 40 has made her a bit more modest. Or maybe she never realized there was anything she could do about the paparazzi -- until Kate Middleton decided to make an example of them. To all the strong women fighting back against peeping-tom photographers: We salute you!
