A Rock Star Feeding her 17 Month Old Baby. You Go Pink!
Pink
Proof that pro-attachment parenting mama Pink is still breastfeeding 17-month-old baby Willow: this edgy Instagram pic from hubby Carey Hart, snapped during a family trip to France. He posted the pic and wrote: "@pink Willz and i out to dinner in Paris. Looks like willow is having the best meal!"
Kudos to our favourite fierce mum for unapologetically nursing in public -- and for keeping it up for so long!
Gwen Stefani
Rocker mum Gwen Stefani shared a quiet moment with her second son, (then 3-months-old) Zuma, on a neighborhood park bench in LA. A few months later the singer shared how Zuma self-weaned during No Doubt's reunion tour, telling USA Today, 'I didn't want him to quit, it felt like total rejection.'
Julie Bowen
Julie Bowen plays Type-A mum Claire Dunphy on US sitcom Modern Family, but in reality the mum of three was laid back enough to share this bare-all picture of her nursing her newborn twin boys, John and Gus, on national television back in May 2010 on Lopez Tonight!
Miranda Kerr
The Victoria's Secret model is used to showing off her assets, but this was a new direction for the lingerie beauty. Just hours after giving birth to her and Orlando Bloom’s son Flynn in January 2011, Miranda looked happy, calm and increadibly beautiful (!) nursing in bed at an LA hospital. Hubby Bloom snapped this intimate pic, which Kerr later shared on her blog.
Jerry Hall
In 1999 the model was snapped breastfeeding her and Mick Jagger's son Gabriel by infamous photographer Annie Leibovitz for the front cover of Vanity Fair.
Angelina Jolie
Whether she’s on the red carpet or breastfeeding on the cover of magazine, Angelina Jolie always looks radiant and flawless. Brad Pitt photographed Jolie feeding their newborn twins, Knox and Vivienne, for the November 2008 cover of W Magazine.
Alicia Silverstone
Fast food for Bear Blu? Only when it comes from mum-on-the-go Alicia Silverstone! We can't be certain, but it certainly looks like the earthy mother is nursing her son while carrying him in an Ergo and walking down a California street. Now that's multitasking!
Salma Hayek
On a goodwill trip to Sierra Leone, Salma Hayek famously breastfed a week-old infant whose mother was too malnourished to produce milk herself. Hayek says she was inspired to raise awareness that Sierra Leone has the highest infant mortality rate in the world by the birth of her daughter, Valentina, (whose father is French billionaire François-Henri Pinault).
In February of 2009, Hayek told Nightline, 'I actually think my baby would be very proud to share her milk. And when she grows up I'm going to make sure she continues to be a generous, caring person.'
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Maggie was snapped breastfeeding (then seven-month-old) daughter Ramona in 2007 outside Bonsignour Café in New York’s Greenwich Village.
Keely Shaye Smith
Known to the rest of us as Mrs. Pierce Brosnan, the former journalist famously meshed a photo shoot for the December 1997 issue of Redbook with her then 11-month-old son Dylan’s mealtime.
Lucy Lawless
Perhaps you don't recognise her when she's not leather-clad. Lucy - better known as Xena (warrior princess) - may be best known for slaying enemies, but in this snapshot with then three-month-old son Judah, life couldn’t be more serene. Lawless was promoting World Breastfeeding Week in 2002, which featured her quote, 'Breastfeeding -- My best role ever.'
iVillage reader Candy's daughter Alexis was rushed to the neonatal care unit and she hadnt really had the oppertunity to see her after she was born. This photo is of them meeting each other for the first time and their first time breastfeeding, 11 months on they are still happily breastfeeding!
This image from iVillage reader Louisa Currie shows the juggle of being a working mum and entrepreneur or mumpreneur.
Louisa of www.bellybeyond.co.nz was having a magazine shoot and well, babies need feeding and this is the result.
